Cataract surgery at the Vienna Vision Surgery Unit
01 · Cataract Surgery

A cataract clouds your sight. We help you see clearly again.

A cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens that gradually blurs vision. Our Surgery Unit guides you through every step — from screening, to specialist consultation, to surgery and recovery.

  • Cataract screening
  • Specialist consultation
  • Intra-ocular lens (IOL) guidance
  • Pre- & post-operative care
Not sure if you need surgery? Start with a free eye test at any branch — if needed, we'll refer you to the Surgery Unit.
Avastin (anti-VEGF) eye injection
02 · Avastin Eye Injection

Protecting your retina with Avastin.

Avastin (bevacizumab) is an anti-VEGF medicine given as a quick injection into the eye to treat retinal conditions. It helps reduce abnormal blood-vessel growth and leakage at the back of the eye.

Please note: an Avastin injection is a medical treatment — a quick in-clinic injection — not a surgery.
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Macular degeneration (AMD)
  • Macular edema
  • Retinal vein occlusion
Pterygium on the surface of the eye
03 · Pterygium Excision Surgery

Removing pterygium for comfort and clear sight.

A pterygium is a fleshy, wing-shaped growth on the surface of the eye that can spread onto the cornea — often caused by long-term sun, wind and dust exposure. Excision surgery removes the growth to relieve irritation and protect your vision.

  • Relieves irritation & redness
  • Removes the growth from the cornea
  • Graft option to reduce recurrence
  • Improves comfort & appearance
